Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world ~ Nelson Mandela.

On behalf of the National Union of Lagos States Students, I heartily congratulate an apostle of change in person of indefatigable Hon. Fami Gbajabiamila on the completion of his “Back to School” program.

For so long, Africa and Africans have been considered to be very backward in education, leadership, development and innovation cum invention. Hence, the classification of been part of the third world countries and where the highest rate of illiteracy abound. Nigeria and Nigerians are not left out of this unfortunate classification despite having all the resources and man power for breakthrough into lime light. Interestingly, a step towards awakening the consciousness of our leaders to the phrase “the youth are the leaders of tomorrow” has been taken and well pronounced by our amiable Hon. Femi Ggbajabiamila and we here and elsewhere in the world, cannot turn a blind eye to this unprecedented program executed for the benefit of the secondary school pupils of Lagos State and by extension to the advantage of the State in it entirety. This is seen as a token given back to the community you have benefited from in consonance with the saying; *he who forgets his root would some day forget the essence of his existence* you have done well not to forget your people and we the youth under the umbrella of the National Union of Lagos State Students are motivated by this singular act and are inspired to start thinking of realistic ways of hastening the developmental growth of our dear state and proffering workable means of ensuring its sustainability.

Finally, we unanimously applaud and commend your efforts in remaining true to the dream and goal of eradicating illiteracy from our dear State, Lagos and by extension Nigeria. Our prayer for you is that your relevance under God and before men will never wither.

May God Bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria in General and Lagos State in Particular
