In an interview with Mr Osinowo Stephen, the present Executive Secretary of Lagos State scholarship Board, who came into office on the 1st of September, 2016.

Mr. Oshinowo who is currently having his Ph.D program at the university’s Faculty of Law after he finished as an undergraduate in the same University’s faculty of Law took a special time to appreciate the institution Vice Chancellor who he said has been able to affect the University in many positive ways by re-branding the institution to NEW LASU against what the University used to be known for, to the best State University in Nigeria, to university who now make positive names on the news headline.
According to the Executive Secretary “He is of the opinion that Bursary paid to Epe division was not a deliberate act, as students of all divisions from Law School, School of Maritime Academy and Lagos State College of Health and Technology benefitted from the disbursement of the bursary.
“scholarship was also paid across all divisions.
He further stated, “I don’t think it was an intentional act by the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the vouchers for payment was randomly selected at the state Bursary office , moreover there was a budget which the government didn’t plan to exceed and Epe division students were lucky to be part of the random selection.”
For the other divisions yet to to receive their bursary it is assured that once the present government disburse they will surely be paid. He added “that a duration can’t be given now but we are expecting the payment soon”.
The scholarship board Boss confirmed the extention for the sales of the Bursary and Scholarship form after a plead from National Union of Lagos State Students’ (NULASS) and the plead was approved by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Lagos State. The sales may not exceed two (2) weeks as the sales has been on since the first week in the month of March.
