Hon. Prince Adedayo Abayomi Abdullateef Ladega, Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, has assured the people of Ikorodu that the much-anticipated Fanti Carnival will get international media exposure this year, aiming to project the city onto the global stage.
The Chairman made the announcement at the Fanti Carnival press conference at Town Hall as planned for Saturday, November 14, 2026.
Prince Ladega mentioned that his government is committed to ensuring that the Ikorodu 2026 Fanti Carnival gets wider visibility beyond Nigeria via international media coverage, thereby showcasing the history, tourism potential, and its rich cultural heritage to the world and bringing the event closer to Ikorodu indigenes abroad who wish to be part of the event.
Those who were part of the press briefing included the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, the Chairman of the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), heads of security agencies and representatives of the three traditional quarters that make up Ikorodu: Isle, Aga and Ijomu.
This year Ikorodu Fanti Carnival will attract visitors, residents, cultural enthusiasts and tourists, high profile individuals, as Ikorodu continues to stand out as a destination for tourism and cultural heritage.
