The residents and stakeholders within who might have been wondering how the Ladega’s government will solve traffic management issues on Ikorodu Fanti Carnival Day have finally applauded the Ikorodu Local Government chairman after unveiling traffic route for the day.
Hon. Prince Adedayo Abayomi Abdullateef during the Ikorodu Fanti Carnival Press Briefing mentioned that nothing less than 800 security personnels will be on standby that day, some of whim’s duty is to ensure traffic decongestion. The security personnels include men of the Nigerian Police Force, DSS, and FRSC, LASTMA, Onyabo, JTF and other sister agencies.
The newly unveiled traffic management plan is not only planned to ensure smooth vehicular movement but for the three quarters across the Ikorodu kingdom, Isele, Ijomu and Aga to have a seamless and peaceful convergence in a way that does not affect the people of Ikorodu and its visitors.
The LASTMA representative who spoke after the Ikorodu chairman unveiled the traffic management plan applauded the chairman saying the plan shows it was professionally done by many eggheads. Many stakeholders and residents has since welcomed the initiative. The plan seeks to manage anticipated crowd whom will be more than the 2025 edition and traffic associated with the annual cultural celebration.
He also mentioned that the 2026 Fanti Carnival will be held as scheduled on Saturday, November 14, 2026, seeking the support and cooperation of everyone.
Prince Ladega said those who will be coming or passing through Ikorodu on that day should make use of Haruna road linking Sabo while others can pass through Ogolonto.
Residents and visitors are therefore advised to take note of the traffic arrangements and make necessary adjustments ahead of the celebration.
